A Golden Birthday!

Tim celebrated his 29th Birthday on April 29th! We didn't do anything "golden" for him, but he had a great day! He got some golfing in and we went to Royal India that night for dinner. I made him an angel food cake with strawberrys & cool whip...it was so yummy! Enjoy the pictures...

Famiy Night with Grandpa George

We visited Grandpa George for Family Night and also wished him a Happy 83rd Birhtday! His birthday is actually on April 29th (same day as Tim's) and since we had dinner plans for Tim's big day on Tuesday, we enjoyed Monday evening with Grandpa George all to ourselves! The activity for the evening was playing with some antique toys that Tim used to play with when he was Avery's age...and at his current age! :) Tim gave a great lesson that was consistently interupted by two very noisy and energtic children. The grand finale of the FHE was DESSERT and a hit for everyone! Grandpa got out the frozen mugs for root beer floats and bowls for heaping scoops of ice cream...yummy! Not a single tummy went empty, infact some were a little too full. We sure love our visits to Granpa's House!

Sunday Evening with the McDermott's

My parents had us over for a delicious Sunday Dinner and to celebrate April Birthdays...okay so, to really celebrate Timmy's birthday! We had such a fun evening and the weather was so beautiful. So Tim and I decided to ride our bikes over to my parents home. It took us about 20 minutes and it wasn't a bad ride, mostly flat or downhill (in one of the pictures you can see our bikes in the background). We spent most of the evening outside playing catch, fresbie, swinging on the swingset or swing the kids in blankets (one of their favorites). My dad & Tim spent sometime helping Avery learn how to hit the ball with a bat. She did pretty well (see the video below). After Tim opened his present, American Idol on the Wii, we moved the party inside for some karaoke type fun! We ended the delightful evening with Tim's favorite - homemade coconut cream pie and my favorite -pumpkin pie! We filled our bellies just in time for our bike ride home. We left as the sun was setting on the goregous spring day. We only had one steep uphill road at the beginning of our journey, but we made it and lived to tell the tale...

I'm having problems adding the video clips, so check back later!

The Peterson's Birthday Bash!

Well, really it was a Birthday Dinner celebrating all the birthdays in April. Tim, Avery and Grandpa George (ever wondered where we got the name "George" from?) were the guests of honor. (It was last Sunday, so yeah, I'm a slow poster). Not much to say about it other than great food (as always) and some good fun! Here are some pictures that captured the evening!

Happy Birthday Avery, Timmy & Grandpa Georgie!

George!

You would think we only had one child from my last few posts, but we have a do have two! Our sweet, busy, silly little George. He loves to play in the toliet, hold wet hand towels in both hands (I don't understand) and eat every chance he gets, even if it's not food! And here he is...our silly little monkey!

This is my favorite picture!

Avery's first black eye

For Family Night this past Monday we decide to take a fun family bike ride on our "cruisers" to a nearby park. While playing at the park, little Avery took a fall right onto the hard plastic steps leading to the slide. She had a good cry. It's looking better everyday. She loves to tell the story about her "owiee". Here is a picture -poor girl!

Avery's Princess Party

So, yesterday was Avery's birthday. She turned 3 years old. We had a Princess Ball for her, per her request. She is so into PINK and PRINCESS these days! It was alot of fun. We invited her preschool group of kids and everyone came. Avery dressed-up as Cinderella and all the kids came in their dress-ups too! They made crowns and magic wands, well they ate their magic wands (rice crispy treats). We danced and played games and won prizes. It was all fun and gamed until it was time for the PRESENTS!! AHHHH! No one warned me about the present chaos! It was insane as kids opened presents and climbed all over Avery. She started kicking and screaming...oh my goodness! So we quickly moved on to the cake and it was a perfect distraction. The last 15 minutes of the party was a breeze. It really was a fun day. Avery got a princess bike, well a trike, that she LOVES! After the kids naps we went to see "Horton Hears a Who". It was a fun day for Avs and that is enough.

Okay, but the day before her birthday, my sister Auburn and I made her a cake...okay 2 cakes. It was insane. We made a Princess cake and a Castle cake. I completely underestimated the time it would take. Avery and I bake the 4 cakes during the day and at 5pm Auburn and started the decorating, we didn't FINISH until 10pm! As I was thinking, "is this really worth it", Avery came into the kitchen and proclaimed in the sweetest voice, "Mom, Thank You so much for my castle cake!" She was over joyed and yep! That sure made it worth every minute of it! Enjoy the pictures...

St.George over Conference Weekend

So, I am playing catch-up with my blog. I wish there were a way to change the dates of posts...if anyone knows how, please educate me!!! I also need to learn how to do all those cute, creative things with backgounds and fonts! HELP!

Anyway, over Conference Weekend (April 5-6) we headed down to our house in Coral Canyon. My parents were already down there for my Dad's work, so we brought Ashty (my sister) down with us. We had a great relaxing weekend. I really enjoyed listening to the Conference talks without all the distractions I would have had at home...you know, trying to work on projects or cleaning while listening...you know! Also, I'm still trying to figure out what is so soothing about old men's voices, that makes everyone in the room fall asleep! I must admit, it was a struggle for me to keep my eyes open during the Sunday sessions. Thank goodness for the Ensign publications and the internet. Okay, enough of my blabbing. Here are the pictures from our great weekend in "warm" St. George!

Our drive down...we made it in 3 1/2 hours and didn't stop once. The kids were great! Look how sweet they are when they're sleeping...

My kids were so perfect to just sit and listen to Conference...

okay, so maybe they are watching Baby Einstein, but no one needs to know!

Playing at the park!

Georgie, doing what he does BEST at Jimmy John's!

Grandpa McDermott & George watching Basketball together!

During Preisthood Session, we (my mom, sister, the kids and I) went to the visitor's center at the St. Goerge Temple. They had an awesome exhibit of hand carved statues of Jesus Christ. It was truly amazing! After we toured the exhibit, we strolled the Temple grounds and let the kids explore. It was a beautiful evening!

Avery wanted to walk up the "Palace staircase" like Cinderella

There is a video clip and I am going to attempt (I hope it works) to put on here of George going down the "Big" slide all by himself. He did it the first time perfectly and then I recorded the second time, Opps! Poor little man...watch it if you can!
