FINALLY!

Our air conditioner is FIXED! Hip, Hip, Hooray!! On Friday night when Tim and I returned home from our date the house was a roasting 78 degrees. We spent Saturday, Sunday and most of Monday with our house tempertaure ranging from 78 to 90 degrees. It threw our whole weekend off, as we tried to come-up with things to do and places to go to keep us cool. We tried to make an adventure out of it by having a big slumber party in our basement, watching movies and enjoying too many treats (I turned to comfort foods in my misery and probably gained 5 pounds over the weekend). But, alas we have cool air once again and I am sooo, sooo very
grateful! Are we spoiled or what!

Old MacDonald had a Farm

At least that is what Avery used to call "Wheeler Farm". In fact, she even thought the head farmer (pictured above), was "Old MacDonald" himself on one of her first visits. I can't blame her; I would almost have to agree that he is what I would imagine "Old MacDonald" should look like.

Okay, so randomly I woke-up and decided I was going to take the kids to Wheeler Farm. We ate, dressed and got in the car. I was determined to get there before it was too hot to enjoy. We had a great day just the three of us! George was enthralled as he pointed with excitement and practiced his animal sounds. He is such an animal lover and the animal of the day was...the ducks(and geese). Georgie would say "Duh-kie" as he pointed his two fingers in peacesign-like and ran after them in every direction. Simply entertained. Avery enjoyed seeing all the animals from Charlotte's Web. We even saw Templeton. She kept asking me if the animals could talk. I finally told her "only if you listen very carefully" and she then replied, "Mom, animals can't talk". Silly Mom!
Avery was helping me keep tabs on George, such a good little helper!
Actually, she was begging to "hold Georgie's tale", so I finally let her and was able to snap a few cute pictures with my hands free.

The highlight of the day was feeding the geese and ducks! After we had used up all the bread I brought, I bought Avery and George their own little brown bag of wheat. They had a blast! As you can see, this is how we roll, double time in our little black stroller! hee hee!!
It was all well worth my impulsive moment in decision making. We all had a fantastic Mommy & Kids day! Avery keeps asking when we are going to do it again...

Dad's Day

Today the kids and I honored Tim as one of the greatest Dad's EVER! We sure love our Timmy! The kiddies picked out a fun fishing toy for Dad and I got him absolutely nothing...just as he requested. I only provided a clean house and a very yummy breakfast! We spent the morning at my cousin's "homecoming" or whatever they are called now. Afterwards, we hung out at my parents. The kids went down for a nap and the guys watched golf, then Tim took a nap and I played games with my mom and sisters. Then we spent the rest of the day with Tim's family for dinner and dessert. Tim had a good day! We love you our cute Daddy!

Avery & George seemed to enjoy my homemade pudding pops, just as much I remember loving my mom's special treat for me as a child. You gotta love 'em and the mess too! Here to good ol' Puddin' Pops!

Rain Showers...

...means basement flooding...Right?! I guess that is if you live in Daybreak. We woke-up Saturday morning to discover a soaking wet carpet in the office downstairs. We were too busy to worry about it since my cousin's shower was about to start, so Monday we took up matters with our home builder. They took care of having our carpet dried and then installed a subpump into our window well. Ben at Liberty homes has sure taken good care of us! We are keeping our fingers crossed that future rain showers won't leave our carpet soggy and wet. But the story doesn't just end there...

It took 2 days for our carpet to dry...
1 day to install our Sub-pump
Over a week to have the aftermath (lawn damage) repaired...It's been a LONG couple of weeks. And the same day our lawn was fixed, our air conditioner stop working! Good times!

Sunday to Sunday

Dinner with McDermotts
My brother Rourke was in town with his girlfriend Lauren, so my parents had us all over for dinner. It was a special, Thanksgiving like, Sunday dinner...so scrumptious! I simply enjoyed every bite. After dinner we moved the party outside to enjoy the pleasant evening. Avery & George had a blast chasing "Thumper" around. I'm not sure Thumper enjoyed it, infact when Avery was chasing him with a Red blanket, it caused great panic to poor old Thumper. Thankfully, the little bunny survived my overexcited kids. It was a very nice evening and I was grateful to spend time with Rourke and Lauren (a rarity). I'll be posting some pics soon!

Family Night

The kids enjoyed basket rides from dad...such simple pleasures!

The TentAvery decided she wanted to sleep in our play tent this week and has slept in it ever since. She has actually slept better in the tent, rather than in her own bed and she is always excited to take naps and go to bed! I hope this lasts!

It's amazing that in these early years of life how kids find pleasure in the simple and mundane. We think to ourselves, "lets buy a nice bed for Avery, she needs it." Boom there goes a few hundy. When lo and behold a $5.00 Walmart special does the trick. It's all part of that conspicuous consumption we fall prey to. We'll never learn.

New Moon

I finished New Moon, on Thursday and I've decided not to read Eclipse until the last book (Breaking Dawn) comes out in August. I think I need a little break and the book ended in a good place for me to take that break.

Cleaning the House...for the shower...lots to do!

Baby Shower

On Saturday, I hosted my cousin BreeAnn's baby shower. It was so much fun! She looked so cute with her baby belly! I am so excited for her, she is going to be such a cute mom! All my McDermott Aunts and my mom helped out a ton with decorations and food. They are all so supportive and great chefs too! The food was delicious! Here are some pics...

Remodeling

I should clarify...we are actually getting projects done that we have been talking about for 2+ years! When we built our house, we decided to do some projects ourselves, instead of paying to have them done (painting, cabinents in laundry room, beadboard, replacing faucets & light fixtures, crown molding...etc). So here we are 2 years later getting them DONE, nonetheless! I've been informed by a non-disclosed source, that I have been referred to as "The Task Master" I'm sure it's out of love and fun, so I'm not offended (okay, it's my brother Rourke if you must know). I kinda like the title. I think I'll keep it for awhile, since there are still lots of tasks still to do. However, one of my greatest joys was when Tim REALLY liked what we had done in our bathroom/laundry room (inspite of trying to convince me that we didn't need to do ANY of it at all) I told him, "see I have good visions" and he agreed! :) Satisfaction, well deserved!

I can't take all the credit. Tim has worked very hard and has developed some new skills with the saw. I am very impressed by his craftsmanship...let's here it for TIM!!
